Programme format

Small-group teaching, with a careful joining route where needed.

Standard pathway: live small-group lessons with up to four students, matched by level, confidence, ambition, and regular test performance.

Diagnostic Bridge: when a student joins part-way through the year or needs closer assessment before placement, we may begin with a short one-to-one Diagnostic Bridge.

Full Core pricing includes a small combined-programme reduction for families paying by monthly standing order.

KS2

Key Stage 2: Years 5–6

Years 5 and 6 are the foundation years for students who need stronger Maths fluency, reasoning, SATs readiness, and confidence before secondary school.

Our KS2 pathway is Maths-first. Year 6 students may add focused SATs English support where appropriate, but the main pathway remains built around stronger Maths foundations.

Who this stage is for

Students in Years 5–6 who need to strengthen core Maths, build reasoning skills, SATs preparation, and confidence before moving into secondary-level work.

  • Maths + SATs English support: 2-session pathway where appropriate

KS3

Key Stage 3: Years 7–8

Years 7 and 8 are the foundation years for students who want to move confidently into GCSE Maths and Science later.

For students aiming towards strong GCSE Science or STEM subjects, we use these years to strengthen core Maths, Physics and Chemistry understanding before Year 9. This helps students begin GCSE-style Science with better confidence, rather than spending Year 9 repairing weak foundations.

Who this stage is for

Students in Years 7–8 who need stronger foundations, steadier confidence, or a more ambitious route towards GCSE work.

Pathways available

  • Maths Foundations: 1 session per week
  • Maths + UKMT Stretch: 2 Maths sessions during UKMT preparation
  • Maths + Science Balance: Maths plus one Science
  • Full Core Foundations: Maths, Physics and Chemistry

Some students focus more heavily on Maths before UKMT season, then move into a more balanced Maths and Science pathway afterwards. We do not usually recommend more than three academic sessions per week at this stage.

GCSE Prep

Years 9–10 GCSE preparation

Years 9 and 10 are where students build the topic coverage needed for serious GCSE performance.

GCSE questions often connect two or three topics in one problem. If students move into past papers too early, they can become confused and lose confidence. Our Years 9–10 pathway builds the Maths, Physics and Chemistry foundations first, with regular testing and an 80% mastery target.

The aim is for students to enter Year 11 with enough coverage to make exam rehearsal useful, not overwhelming.

Year 11

Year 11 GCSE exam year

Year 11 is where topic knowledge must turn into exam marks.

We focus on weaker topics, mixed-topic GCSE questions, past-paper method, timing, written accuracy, and mark-scheme discipline. Students need repeated exam rehearsal, but the rehearsal must be corrected properly.

We run GCSE-style mock exams around late November or December, again around February or March, and, where useful, one further mock close to the final exam period.

Students in Year 11 who need topic gaps, exam method, and final GCSE preparation handled with clear structure.

A-Level Maths

A-Level Maths

Specialist Maths pathways for students working towards AS, final A-Level grades, predicted grades, or mathematically demanding UK university applications.

A-Level Maths support depends on the student’s goal. Some students need strong AS foundations in Year 12. Others need final-grade preparation in Year 13. Some also need deeper mathematical reasoning for UK admissions tests such as TMUA, where speed, accuracy, and problem-solving matter.

Who this stage is for

Students in Year 12 or Year 13 who need serious A-Level Maths teaching, predicted-grade support, final exam preparation, or admissions preparation after consultation.

Pathways available

AS / Year 12 Maths

For students building algebra fluency, written method, Pure content, statistics, mechanics, and the confidence needed for strong predicted grades.

Year 13 A-Level Maths

For students preparing for final A-Level performance, with a focus on harder Pure topics, applied papers, mixed-topic questions, past-paper rehearsal, timing, and mark-scheme discipline.

University admissions preparation

For students applying to mathematically demanding UK courses such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or related degrees where TMUA or another admissions test may form part of the application.

Accelerated A-Level Maths

For students considering full A-Level Maths completion in one year, or sitting A-Level Maths in Year 12. This route needs a consultation before we recommend a plan.

Joining route

Diagnostic Bridge

Students joining part-way through the year may begin with a short Diagnostic Bridge before entering the standard programme.

This is an intensive one-to-one entry pathway, usually up to four sessions and normally no longer than four weeks. We use it to assess level, identify gaps, observe how the student learns, rebuild confidence, and recommend the right pathway.

If your child needs further one-to-one catch-up after the Diagnostic Bridge, we will discuss the plan and cost with you before adding anything extra.

Are the standard programmes one-to-one?

Our standard programmes are live small-group lessons with up to four students in a batch.

We use small groups because the right peer environment matters. Students often rise faster when they learn alongside carefully matched peers who are working at a similar level and aiming high.

One-to-one support is used for the Diagnostic Bridge where a student needs closer assessment before joining the standard programme.

How do you place students into groups?

We place students based on level, confidence, ambition, and regular test performance.

We also review how students work in lessons. If a student needs a different pace, more challenge, or more support, we can adjust the group where needed.

Why not only offer one-to-one tutoring?

One-to-one tutoring can be useful for diagnosis and catch-up, which is why we use it for the Diagnostic Bridge.

For standard programmes, a carefully matched small group gives students personal teaching while also creating pace, comparison, and ambition. Students can see stronger work, raise their standards, and learn alongside peers with similar goals.

What is the Diagnostic Bridge?

The Diagnostic Bridge is a short one-to-one entry pathway for students joining part-way through the year or needing closer assessment before placement.

It helps us assess level, identify gaps, observe how the student learns, rebuild confidence, and recommend the right pathway. It usually runs for up to four sessions and normally no longer than four weeks.

What does the monthly fee cover?

The monthly fee contributes to the full academic programme your child follows through the teaching cycle.

This includes lessons, testing, progress tracking, parent updates, pathway guidance, and the academic rhythm behind the programme. It is not simply a pay-per-lesson charge.

Can my child join part-way through the year?

Yes, but students joining part-way through the year may not be placed directly into the standard programme.

Where needed, we begin with the Diagnostic Bridge so we can understand the student’s current level and recommend the right route.

Can students move between groups?

Yes. Regular testing and lesson observation help us understand whether a student is in the right group.
